When presenting future technologies, it seems only fit to use futuristic technologies to do so. Following this motto, Shell commissioned us to create a unique and eye-catching holographic presentation with animated content of its product Shell Helix Ultra to the leading media players and thought leaders. Our task was to develop a presentation on a completely new level using the advanced technologies.
We suggested presenting the technical information via holographic 3D visuals that helped to keep the attention of the audience focused during two hours of presentation. Compelling animations kept the slides alive during longer speaking periods and the holographic projection created an immersive experience for presenters and guests alike. Presenters could move the 3D objects freely – reposition, resize and drag it as much as they wanted to.
At the end we gave the guests an opportunity to touch the technologies. Two transparent touch-screens were designed and produced; the guests could get acquainted with the geography of Shell via an interactive globe.
Concept of the presentation combined virtual models in a real space with live presenters. We used a holographic effect better known as a Pepper’s Ghost. At the edge of the stage, we installed a holographic gauze which was invisible to the eye but served as a surface for a projector. So that the presenter could position himself against the hologram, a special optical system had been developed that duplicated the holograms and presenters together in the real-time and broadcasted them via the reverse side of the gauze.
