emotional experience
‘Visions of Future’ is an interactive motion-activated manifest created for Alfa-Bank at Finopolis 2018. Borrowed from the aesthetics of sci-fi, and as far from the conventional booth design as possible. Neon lights and a towering fragmented screen-wall without any hints of controls.
Idea & approach
Finopolis is a forum, where financial industry leaders develop roadmaps, innovations and technologies are presented. All the participants share their predictions for the next year, trying to calculate ‘how the wind lies’. The booth takes a different approach at envisioning future: instead of predicting or calculating possible scenarios, it generates interactive immersive images of the future. Evoking an emotional metaphor, not a rational understanding.

Digital avatar
Every vision was constructed around the guest’s digitized avatar, communications the main message - future is impossible without actions, we do not know, where future lies, but we are the ones to create it. To deliver this effect we used a depth camera, scanning the person in realtime. The resulting data created a digital onscreen avatar. The feeling of involvement, immersion, a shift from rational to emotional shaped the experience.

Three visions
The key to bring the visions of future to life is a person, curiosity of a human mind, one’s actions. An urge to advance manifested in the act of motion. Future shaped by technology and brought to life with guest’s movements. We have created three visions for that - A world with new speeds of transactions, data, transportation; A world with new means of communication security and trust; A world, seen through the sensors of smart machines.

Liquid shader
To bring the silhouette a more artistic look we created a special shader effect that transferred an original rendered object into a liquid one. We had played around with some properties of the shader to get a good balance between visual and sensitivity.
Idle mode
To fulfill the idea of digital experience we created a generative particle visuals for stanby screen. It was followed by a meditative ambient sound which turned it all even more deep. Also this mode show some explanatory animations of various bank products.
